The conception of Art in Art-therapy: Focusing on French Art-therapy Theory
Kim Lk-Jin

Abstract
What is the art in the art-therapy? The studies on this plan are not really done with the precision up to the present. Even in France where the theological studies of the art-therapy begun since the end of 1940s, finding the answer of this question is always ongoing. So much it is difficult to define the art in the art-therapy. Nevertheless it is very useful to us to consult the efforts of the AFRATAPEM, Tout savoir sur l'Art-therapie in which we can find many interesting points of view concerning the definition of the art in the art-therapy. The theory of 3B and the harmonic cube open the way for us to find the possibility of guarding the aesthetic aspect of the art when we apply the arts to the therapeutic activities. Through the studies which we have consulted, we can seize the ideas which could be useful to define the art in art-therapy. And then, we can define the art in the art-therapy on the functional plan. In the first place, the art offers a formal frame in which the patients can express themselves freely avoiding to fall in rough state. In the second, non-verbal, it allows to express the inner ego which is difficult to show with the language. In the third, it is a means by witch the patients can manage to obtain a insight. And we add another function which is fundamental. It is that the art can be the passage through which we can have the aesthetic experience. This fourth aspect is radical because it is finally the foundation of the previous three functions. Without an aesthetic experience, the art-therapy has no difference towards the ergotherapy.
